Challenge and context
The CEO had an idea for a collaborative savings app, based on rotational savings clubs. However, this concept was untested.
My goal was to deliver a MVP to present to potential stakeholders, working with a team of 3 junior UX designers.

Problem
Many people face barriers in building savings, whether from personal problems or institutional barriers, which greatly affects their current and future financial stability.

Iterations
Before
Users were skimming the onboarding screen, and when asked later, did not understand the app’s features.
After
I reworked the introduction to so users could easily understand the premise and benefits of Contribiia.


Before
100% of user tests showed that users hated the idea of publicly sharing finances, and would not use this feature.
After
The stakeholder was adamant on having a Share feature, so I came up with a different way users could share Contribiia with others.
Before
Users were unsure what they were signing up for. Some were concerned if they lowered their credit score by signing up.
After
The simplified explanation is easier to digest quickly, and builds trustworthiness in users by mentioning trusted institutions.

Users thought the dashboard was lacking in the information it conveyed.
After
The dashboard now conveys more information at a glance.
